• CD-ROM or DVD drive (writer required for creating CD/DVD deployment media)

To perform the walkthroughs, you will also need:

1. An ISO image of the Windows Vista product installation DVD.
2. A shared folder called “SmartDeploy”.
   a. Create the folder C:\SmartDeploy on your C: drive.
   b. Share the folder as SmartDeploy.
      a. Grant the Everyone group Read permissions.
3. Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 installed.
4. DHCP and DNS services on your physical network.
   - The DHCP service must assign computers valid IP addresses.
   - The DHCP service must assign computers valid DNS server information.
